Douglas White

Collecting items discarded or lost, Douglas White chooses a material used to create impressive sculptures and strange. Its forms, between figuration and abstraction favor the formal potential, aesthetic or narrative objects, which would otherwise be ignored. His first Cahune Black palm is composed of flat tires found by the artist on the highway in Belize. This piece, installed in the middle of the jungle, was an intruder in a chemical biological world. In the city the situation is reversed, with Black Rubber transformed Palms grew to dominate the human environment.
